Poets Project at Casa Grande

Call for Nominations: The Poets Project at Casa Grande

This summer, The Denver Foundation will move into Casa Grande, a historic building located at 1009 Grant Street. Built in 1929, Casa Grande is part of the Sherman/Grant Historic District that also includes Denver’s Poets Row.

In keeping with the spirit of our new neighborhood, The Denver Foundation will honor the legacy and living history of poetry in Colorado on the walls and halls of Casa Grande. Each of our eight community/meeting spaces will be named for a poet with a strong connection to Colorado. We seek a diverse range of poets whose work reflects the richness of poetry in our state, and who reflect our vision of a strong, inclusive, and creative community.

We invite you to nominate yourself or a poet for consideration. Selected poets will receive a $500 honorarium, and their work will be printed and hung in the room that bears their name.

Nominations will be reviewed by Denver Foundation staff as well as a volunteer panel of representatives from local arts and literary organizations.

We welcome nominations for poets who are living as well as those who have passed. Nominations are due by Friday, May 8. Selected poets (or their estates) will be announced in June.
