We prioritize community needs.

We listen to communities to understand and respond to the most pressing needs.

Critical Needs Fund

The Critical Needs Fund allows us to be flexible and responsive in urgent and challenging times, such as those we’re experiencing now. As our community navigates the COVID-19 crisis and recovery from it, we will support high-impact initiatives, collaborations, and organizations providing essential services to priority populations.

We ask for your support of the Critical Needs Fund to be able to respond to our community. We accept gifts of all types and sizes. Everyone can be a philanthropist, and every gift makes a difference.

If you would like to give via your donor-advised fund, please contact the Engaged Philanthropy Team at 303.300.1790.

Black Resilience in Colorado (BRIC)

This new fund aims to support Black-led and Black-serving organizations working to dismantle systemic racism across the seven-county Metro Denver region. Initial priorities are addressing racial inequities that have been compounded by the COVID-19 pandemic and building power among Black communities to effect policy change.

BRIC was established in June 2020. In its first year, with support from individuals, giving circles, and foundations, BRIC will distribute more than $1 million in grants.

Denver Immigrant Legal Services Fund

The Denver Immigrant Legal Services Fund (DILSF) is a special project fund at The Denver Foundation.  DILSF was developed following an executive order signed by Denver Mayor Michael B. Hancock in August 2017, pledging support for immigrants and refugees, including an estimated 55,000 unauthorized immigrants who live in Denver. Many of these immigrants work and are connected to family members with varying types of legal status. Legal status is the primary barrier to successful integration into the U.S. for immigrants, yet access to affordability of legal representation create significant challenges.
