Building Community

Arts & Culture

Click here for a list of arts and culture organizations funded by The Denver Foundation!

An integral component of the Metro Denver economy, the arts and culture industry generates $1.3 billion a year in economic activity in our area and employs more than 9,000 individuals. Beyond the economic benefit provided to the community, the arts help to enhance our quality of life, and studies have shown that schools offering arts and music programs report higher standardized test scores.

The Denver Foundation supports Arts and Culture through its Community Grants Program. Priority is given to programs that advance K-12 arts education or integrate the arts into public education; interdisciplinary programs and programs that use the arts to address social issues; or programs that use the arts to promote cultural exchange and develop and expand audiences, especially by engaging diverse and under-reached people in the community (see Grant Guidelines or full list of priorities).

Donors can help by giving directly to arts and cultural organizations through their donor-advised funds or by leaving a legacy gift so that the Foundation can steward the funds in perpetuity after their lifetime.
