Community Grants Program

The Community Grants Program awards hundreds of grants annually to nonprofit organizations in the seven-county Metro Denver area -- Adams, Arapahoe, Boulder, Broomfield, Denver, Douglas, and Jefferson counties.

Grants are awarded in four major focus areas:

• Arts & Culture
• Health
• Human Services
• Civic & Education

You must review the Grant Guidelines in order to apply. Applications are due by the following deadlines, and decisions take approximately four to five months from the deadline date.

If you are a first-time applicant or an organization who has not received a grant from the Community Grants Program in the last four years, please call us before submitting a proposal.  Although the Community Grants Program is not presently encouraging such applications, we are always willing to listen and advise you about submitting a proposal.  To schedule a conversation with a program officer, email Alma Martinez at amartinez@denverfoundation.org, or call 303-300-1790 ext. 155.

In late 2011, we released our new strategic plan.  During the course of 2012, we will be determining how best to implement our plan – and we’ll be reaching out to the community for advice and help in numerous ways.  We’ll also keep you informed about our process, including changes to our grants program, on our website at http://denverfoundation.org/listening.  If you have thoughts, we invite you to send a message to listening@denverfoundation.org.
