High Park Fire

The Denver Foundation expresses its care and concern for our neighbors in Larimer County who are fighting the High Park Fire. From our friends at Northern Colorado Community Foundation: "Please consider supporting the Red Cross Northern Colorado Chapter with monetary support to provide High Park Fire evacuees with pre-paid cards for the purchase of clothes and other necessities. Thanks also to the Larimer Humane Society for providing evacuees with pet assistance; please call the Animal Protection and Control dispatch at 970-226-3647 ext. 7 for more info."

First African American Men’s Giving Circle in the Nation’s West

Calling themselves the Denver African American Philanthropists (DAAP), the men will formalize their commitment publicly on May 15 at The Denver Foundation’s Annual Celebration. The group has worked with the Foundation over the past several months to develop the fund, which will be housed at the Foundation, where their contributions will be pooled. They have also consulted with LaDawn Sullivan, Associate Program Officer for the Foundation‘s Strengthening Neighborhoods Program, among other staff, to develop a good working structure and to begin determining their long-term goals.
