Investment Performance

The Denver Foundation’s investment performance has been strong, in bad times as well as good.  The years from 2000 to 2002 saw the worst stock market since the Great Depression.  The stock market lost one-half of its value.  During these three years, the Foundation’s investments were actually up. The keys to the Foundation’s investment success are an experienced investment team, access to sophisticated investment vehicles, and a wide diversity of investment types.

In 2003, when the stock market recovered, investments gained 19.84%.  In 2005, the Foundation's investments were +10.04%, outperforming the S&P 500, Dow Jones, and NASDAQ.  In 2006, investments were +12.14%.  In 2007, investments were +10.69%.
