The Eagle Fund is a Donor Advised Fund of The Denver Foundation, and its mission is to make tangible and lasting improvements to education in Colorado.

The Eagle Fund was founded in 2002 by eleven friends who attended grade school together in Denver, Colorado.  The founding members, who were in their early twenties at the time of the group’s inception, recognized their common appreciation for their own schooling and formed the Eagle Fund as a way to help provide meaningful educational opportunities for others.  The Eagle Fund donates both time and capital to the programs it supports and is always seeking new ways to contribute to education in Colorado.

As part of its grant and service initiatives, The Eagle Fund has actively supported the educational programs at KSPA. 

KIPP Sunshine Peak Academy (KSPA):

KSPA is a Denver Public Charter School dedicated to helping underprivileged students develop the skills, knowledge and character necessary to succeed in top quality high schools, colleges and the competitive world beyond.  KSPA is part of the highly-acclaimed Knowledge Is Power Program (KIPP), an organization that promotes and coordinates 31 similar schools nationwide.

The Eagle Fund has assisted KSPA by contributing funds for its trips to learn about government and citizenship in Washington DC, experience the outdoors in Utah, and visit top-ranked universities around the country.  In addition, The Eagle Fund hopes to support KSPA as it continues to grow and expand with a new campus that breaks ground in the fall of 2004. 

Complementing the annual grants, Eagle Fund members participate in service projects that promote KSPA’s mission of academic excellence.  In the fall of 2003, Eagle Fund members partnered with KPSA fifth graders to raise awareness on important educational ballot measures.  As a result of the approved ballot, KPSA received $2 million toward construction of their new campus.
