Presentations on Nonprofit Inclusiveness

Does your organization want to explore the ideas of inclusiveness?  One way to start may be through a presentation from the Inclusiveness Project speakers’ bureau.   The Inclusiveness Project speakers' bureau offers two different presentations for Metro Denver nonprofits:

Introduction to Inclusiveness at Work
This presentation has been offered to nonprofits since 2005.  It provides an overview of the Inclusiveness Project and describes the process to become more inclusive that is outlined in Inclusiveness At Work.  It contains the following elements:
·      Introduction to the Inclusiveness Project
·      Definitions of Diversity and Inclusiveness
·      The imperatives for building inclusiveness: demographic, business,
       mission, and equity
·      Research findings on inclusiveness in the Metro Denver nonprofit sector,
including best practices/barriers to building inclusiveness in nonprofits
·      Description of the six-step process to build inclusiveness outlined in
       Inclusiveness At Work, including:
o       Assessing the costs and benefits of building inclusiveness
                       o       Setting priorities regarding inclusiveness
o       Creating a tailored inclusiveness blueprint

With time for questions and answers, we recommend that organizations set aside 60 minutes for the presentation.  The presentation can also be shortened to approximately 30 minutes for a board of directors.

Nonprofit Inclusiveness: Tools for the Journey
Based on feedback about the aforementioned Inclusiveness Project presentation, Tools for Building Inclusiveness, we created a new presentation: Tools for the Journey.  This presentation inlcudes testimonies from organizations going through inclusiveness processes, explores the organizational benefits for becoming more inclusive, and provides an opportunity for participants to think about how they can build inclusiveness in their own organization.  The presentation contains the following elements:
·      Introduction to the Inclusiveness Project
·      The imperatives for building inclusiveness: demographic, business,
mission, and equity - includes testimonies from organizations
·      Research findings on inclusiveness in the Metro Denver nonprofit sector,
including best practices/barriers to building inclusiveness in nonprofits
·      Ideas for creating change at the individual and organizational levels
·      Brief description of the six-step process to build inclusiveness outlined in
       Inclusiveness At Work
·      Possible next steps for moving forward
·      Opportunities to discuss inclusiveness and for participants to share their
       experiences and knowledge

With time for discussion and questions and answers, we recommend that organizations set aside 60 minutes for this presentation.

Note that, in order to meet demand, this presentation is also offered several times per year in sessions open to any nonprofit representative.
