Building the Pipeline

The volunteers and staff of the Inclusiveness Project seek to help more people of color become involved in the nonprofit sector as volunteers, staff, board members, and donors.

To accomplish this, the Inclusiveness Project has connected with hundreds of emerging and established leaders in the community to learn what connects them to nonprofits.  As a result, we offer the following research.

"Report from the Pipeline" Research

The Inclusiveness Project compiled the results of our conversations and surveys collecting the reflections of more than 200 emerging and established community leaders. We asked them:
  • Why did you get involved in the nonprofit sector?
  • What barriers have you encountered in working with nonprofits?
  • What can nonprofits do to become more welcoming of communities of color?

  • The answers provide excellent tools for nonprofit organizations seeking to become more inclusive, and can help people assess their own involvement with nonprofits.  Click on the link below to learn more.
